Spain’s Riurau Short filmfest meeting Iran’s ‘Psycho’

The Riurau Int’l Short Film Festival in Spain is screening Iranian film ‘Psycho’.

The Riurau International Short Film Festival (RRFF) in Spain has been screening Iranian film ‘Psycho’.

Written and directed by Mostafa Davtalab, the Iranian flick is being screened at the formal section of short fiction works at the 10th edition of the Spanish event.

The 14-minute ‘Psycho’ tells the story of a couple - a young woman and a patient with a psychiatric disorder - who take a taxi to a psychiatric hospital.

As serious betrayal conflicts erupt between the two, the driver becomes highly enraged.

The cast list of the short film includes Reza Amouzad, Roya Hosseini and Mohammad Nariman.

‘Psycho’ previously went on screens at the Johns Hopkins Film Festival in the US, the Islantilla Cinefórum International Festival in Spain, and the ‘Tehran’ International Short Film Festival in Iran.

Founded by the non-profit association of Escola de Cinema Riurau in 2012, the RRFF aims to offer a space for meeting, dissemination, development and competition to short filmmakers from all over the world.

The 2021 edition of the Riurau International Short Film Festival has been slated for August 21–September 11 in five different Spanish cities.
